The symbol of a Native American canoeist — honoring the tribes who once traveled and traded along this river.
The origin
When we found this location for our brewery, we were elated! Little Miami Brewing sits alongside the picturesque Little Miami River. It is complemented by many species of old-growth trees and a variety of wildlife.
The next step was to create an impactful logo. A friend and artist rough sketched a few ideas – a deer, a jumping fish – but none of them quite hit home. Then he sketched this out.
THE SKETCH
We loved it and knew it was a home run! We have both always loved the outdoors and history. What better way to capture the history of the location than with a Native American in a canoe. This spot was a hub for travel and trade between tribes. Our logo historically depicts the purpose of the Little Miami River. We are so honored to have this platform to pay homage to the First Peoples’ history and culture in this great land!
THE COMMUNITY
In the spirit of giving back, we are proud to offer a yearly scholarship to one high school senior of Native American descent. The goal of this scholarship is to keep the history of this area alive, and to support current and future Native Americans!
